An important message to our stakeholders 12/3 - Criterion Industries

March 12, 2020

Making it easy for our customers to be successful has always been our highest priority.

Hence, I wanted to send a message from the Board of Criterion to share the steps we are taking to mitigate the impact of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) on all of our stakeholders.

COVID-19 has gripped the headlines globally and is driving episodes of panic buying. Governments worldwide are grappling to find solutions to arrest the spread of the virus. The World Health Organisation has now characterised COVID-19 as a pandemic.

Predominantly, the impact to the construction industry will be caused by interruption to the supply chain and potential labour shortages. As we know, the onset of the COVID-19 has resulted in shipments from China being extensively delayed interrupting the supply of materials leading to stock outs and consequential project delays. The spread of COVID-19 has also left many international travellers resorting to self-quarantine on their return to Australia.

We have taken proactive steps to provide for the health and wellbeing of our staff in line with recommendations from the World Health Organisation and the Australian Government Department of Health.

In addition, we are constantly testing the strength of our supply chain. We strive to support Australian industry and we are thankful to say that our supply chain at this point has not been impacted by the COVID-19. Where necessary, we have been able to identify alternative sources of supply, albeit at a higher cost.

We want to reassure you that we are well stocked in all our key product lines.

We recognise that time is of the essence in our industry and appreciate how much you depend on us delivering your orders quickly and on time to site. To this end, we are committed to provide an unbroken service through these difficult times.

If you do have any issues or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will do all we can to provide a resolution. We will continue to keep you updated with any fresh developments.

Thanks again for your business.
